Please read these terms before booking. A journey form is a request for a quote. Your booking becomes confirmed when we confirm it in writing after you accept the quoted arrangements and complete any payment step we require.
1. Zanzibar Luggage
Zanzibar Luggage provides luggage collection, handling, storage where required, onward delivery, and related passenger transport arrangements in Zanzibar. Available journey types may include Luggage Only, Split Journey and Travel Together, together with optional Day Bags and other agreed additions.
2. Quotes and booking confirmation
Website forms request a quote and do not by themselves create a booking. We will review the route, timing, passengers, luggage and any requested additions before confirming availability and price.
A booking is confirmed when we confirm it in writing after you accept the quoted arrangements and complete any payment step stated in the quote or confirmation. Your booking confirmation, including any route specific price, timing or cancellation terms stated there, forms part of the agreement between us.
3. Prices and payment
Your quote will state the price, currency and any payment requirement. Prices are based on the information you provide. We may revise a quote before confirmation if the route, timing, passenger number, luggage quantity or size, waiting time, storage requirement or other material detail changes.
If additional work or cost becomes necessary after confirmation because the information supplied was materially inaccurate or your plans change, we will explain any additional charge before carrying out the additional service where reasonably possible.
4. Your information and timings
You are responsible for providing accurate collection and delivery locations, dates, Zanzibar local times, passenger numbers, contact details, luggage quantities and luggage size information. All times shown or requested through the website are Zanzibar local time, East Africa Time, UTC+3.
Please tell us promptly about changes to flights, ferries, accommodation, activities or other plans that affect a booked journey.
5. Collection and luggage condition
You must present the agreed luggage at the agreed collection location and time. We may photograph or otherwise record the exterior condition and identifying features of luggage at collection and delivery.
You are responsible for packing luggage securely and for telling us in advance about oversized, unusually heavy, fragile or unusual items.
6. Delivery and handover
You, or another recipient agreed with us in advance, must be available at the agreed delivery point to receive the luggage. We do not leave luggage unattended.
If hotel reception, a host or another third party is expected to receive luggage, you are responsible for ensuring that person or business is willing and authorised to accept it. Delivery is complete when the luggage is handed to you or the agreed recipient.
7. Items we will not knowingly carry
Unless we expressly agree otherwise in writing, luggage must not contain cash, passports or other essential identity documents, jewellery, irreplaceable documents, dangerous or hazardous materials, illegal items, weapons, live animals, perishable items requiring controlled conditions, or unusually valuable items.
We may refuse luggage that appears unsafe, prohibited, unsuitable for the arranged vehicle or materially different from the information provided.
8. How we may handle luggage
The practical handling of luggage may vary according to the journey. Luggage may travel directly toward its destination, remain within controlled transport arrangements, or be placed in a suitable storage location until delivery or reunion. We choose the operational method unless a particular arrangement has been expressly agreed with you.
9. Passenger transport
Passenger transport may be included in Split Journey or Travel Together bookings and may be provided through local drivers or operating partners. You are responsible for being ready at the agreed pickup time and for allowing a sensible time margin for flights, ferries, activities and other time sensitive arrangements.
Traffic, road conditions, weather, security checks, flight or ferry disruption and other events outside reasonable control can affect journey times.
10. Day Bags
Where Day Bag hire is included, the number available will be confirmed with your booking. A Day Bag supplied by us remains our property unless we tell you otherwise. You are responsible for returning it in the agreed condition, allowing for reasonable travel wear. We may charge the reasonable replacement cost for a Day Bag that is lost or materially damaged while in your possession.
11. Changes, waiting time and missed collections
We will try to accommodate reasonable changes, but changes may affect availability or price. Significant waiting time, additional stops or a missed collection caused by late arrival or changed plans may result in an additional charge where additional transport or staff time is required.
If we cannot complete a service because we cannot contact you or an agreed recipient, or because no authorised person is available to receive luggage, we may return the luggage to secure custody and charge reasonable additional handling, storage or redelivery costs.
12. Cancellations and refunds
Any booking specific cancellation period or charge will be stated in your quote or booking confirmation before you book. If no special cancellation term is stated, contact us as soon as possible if you need to cancel and we will confirm any amount refundable after taking account of services already performed and reasonable costs already committed for your booking.
If we cancel a confirmed booking and cannot offer a reasonable alternative that you accept, we will refund amounts you paid for the part of the service we do not provide.
Nothing in these terms limits any cancellation or refund right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
13. Loss, damage and complaints
We will exercise reasonable care when handling luggage. If you believe luggage has been lost or damaged while in our custody, tell us as soon as reasonably possible and provide details and any supporting photographs or receipts that are reasonably available.
We are not responsible for pre existing damage, ordinary wear and tear, damage caused by inadequate packing, the inherent nature of an item, or prohibited items carried without our agreement. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so.
14. Events outside reasonable control
We are not responsible for a failure or delay caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as severe weather, road closures, government restrictions, civil disruption, major transport disruption or similar events. Where this materially affects a confirmed booking, we will try to offer a reasonable alternative, reschedule, or address any unprovided part of the service fairly.
15. Operating partners
We may use local drivers, storage providers or other operating partners to help provide a booked service. We remain your point of contact for the Zanzibar Luggage booking unless we tell you otherwise.
16. Your statutory rights
These terms do not affect rights you have under consumer or other mandatory law that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.
17. Privacy
Our Privacy Notice explains how personal information submitted through the website or in connection with a booking is used.
18. Governing law
These terms and bookings made through Zanzibar Luggage are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory local laws that apply to transport, storage or other services performed in Zanzibar and any mandatory consumer rights that apply where you live.
